Astro Reader can produce highly accurate chart calculations when you provide an exact birth time and correct birth location. If your birth time is approximate or unknown, rising sign, house placement, and some timing-based interpretation can change significantly.
Most beginners do well starting with Western or Hellenistic astrology. Western is usually easier if you want a psychological reading, while Hellenistic is better if you want clearer topic-based interpretation and traditional timing methods.
Whole Sign is usually the simplest starting point and works especially well for Hellenistic and Vedic astrology. Placidus is a common choice for modern Western astrology, so the best option depends on the tradition and style of reading you want.
You only need an ayanamsa when you choose a sidereal framework such as Vedic astrology. Tropical systems like most Western and Hellenistic approaches do not use ayanamsa settings in the same way.
